  Rx For a New Lawn

Step 1.  Remove debris, weeds, rocks, and any extra dirt not needed for the grading of the lawn panel.  

Step 2.  Level the area to be planted.

Step 3.  Add topsoil only if needed for grading.

Step 4.  Moisten soil first and then blend into top 4-6 inches of soil:

A.      PAYDIRT or HUMUS MULCH – 2 cu. Ft. per 50-75 sq ft.  

B.      BEST FOR BLADE – 40 lbs per 2000 sq ft.

C.   MINERAL SOIL CONDITIONER - 40 lbs per 400 Sq ft.  

      *Note:  Paydirt contains chicken manure and mushroom compost to add important nutrients to your soil!

 Step 5.  Finish leveling and roll two ways (criss-cross).

Step 6.  Seed or lay sod as recommended.

A.      MARATHON SEED IIe ®– 1 lb. Per 100 sq ft.

B.      NUGGET DWARF FESCUE - 1 lb. Per 100 sq ft.

C.      SUBURBAN BLEND (fine rye - bluegrass mix) – 1 lb. Per 150-200 sq ft.

Step 7.  If seeding, top dress with NURSERYMAN’S ORGANIC HUMUS MULCH or PAYDIRT (1 bag per 200 sq. ft).  Spread an even ¼” over the seeds.

Step 8.  Water with Soil Penetrant .  It will soak into the seed, allowing the seed to germinate faster.

Step 9.  WATER DAILY, 2-3 times lightly until seed comes up.
