The Vegetable and Herb Patch (and berries too!) One of the great benefits of living in a temperate climate such as ours is that with a little effort and determination, almost ANY vegetable, herb or berry can be grown in our gardens. It is such a joy to walk out in the garden on an early summer morning, pick a few vine ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and some mixed lettuce greens, and know that the evening's salad has been provided right outside our own backdoors!
