The Vegetable and Herb Patch

(and berries too!)

Vegetable Patch.jpg (174949 bytes)

One of the great benefits of living in a temperate climate such as ours is that with a little effort and determination, almost ANY vegetable, herb or berry can be grown in our gardens.  It is such a joy to walk out in the garden on an early summer morning, pick a few vine ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and some mixed lettuce greens, and know that the evening's salad has been provided right outside our own backdoors!  In this section we offer tips toward success, as well as lists of some of our favorite vegetable varieties.  Be sure to check out our "Companion Planting" guide, which couples specific herbs with certain vegetables as natural defense against garden predators such as aphids, thrips, caterpillars, and many others..
