PERENNIALS, BEDDING PLANTS AND GROUND COVERS can be successfully grown by anyone if the soil is IMPROVED and a few tips are followed:

SOIL PREPARATION: Most of our soils are in need of Organic Humus to retain moisture and plant nutrients. We recommend adding BUMPER CROP (plant mix with chicken, bat guano, kelp meal and worm castings) and NURSERYMEN’S PRE-PLANT FERTILIZER or BUMPER CROP BOOSTER (all organic blood meal, bone meal, etc.) Use one bumper Crop per 50 sq. ft. and 2 lbs Pre-Plant Fertilizer per 100 sq. ft. Mix well with existing soil.

We also have a problem with SALTS in our soil, so it is good to reduce them with an application of NURSERYMEN’S SOIL CONDITIONER at the rate of 40 lbs per 350 sq. ft.

Mix these with your soil about 6 inches deep. Now you are ready to plant. Use the following chart

Nurseryman’s Bumper Crop (1 bag per 50 sq. ft.)
Pre-Plant Fertilizer (2 lbs per 100 sq. ft.)
Nurseryman’s Soil Conditioner (40 lbs per 350 sq. ft.)
Snail Bait
Garden weed preventer

FORMULAS TO DETERMINE SQ. FT:

Circles: Area = Diameter squared x 0.7854

Triangles: Area = 1/2 x height

Rectangles: Area = Base x height

WEED PREVENTION INSURANCE: Yes, you can save yourself hours of time and costly hand weeding by applying a weed preventer at the time you plant. First, REMOVE existing weeds, then SHAKE ON GARDEN WEED PREVENTER (such as Green Lite, Amaze). This will kill the sprouting weed seeds without harming the growing bedding plants or ground cover.
